It is a sad fact of life that companies such as WLS will, for the foreseeable future, have to operate in a new normal world where all our activities have to be carried out with the impact of COVID-19 in mind. As a result of this, COVID-19 safety for our customers and our team is a top priority.

Of course, we are still determined to complete all of our projects on time. But, at this difficult time, our number one priority will always be to protect our people and customers from the risk of catching the disease in any way that we can. So, rising to the challenge, we have put measures in place to ensure that wherever they are deployed, our engineers are able to work in a safe environment. To achieve this, we have liaised closely with customers to ensure that on-site best practices are always adhered to. This means that the risk of COVID-19 spreading is minimised. We are, of course, also strictly complying with government directives and taking on-board the advice offered by the World Health Organisation.

COVID-19 Safety: PPE & Best Practice

An essential requirement at all locations where WLS engineers are working is that everyone must be wearing the appropriate personal protective equipment, (PPE), such as face masks and gloves. Our project managers constantly check that this rule is being complied with and that surfaces that our colleagues might come into contact with are regularly disinfected to minimise the chances of the disease being spread through touchpoints and keep everything generally clean.

Most sites where we are contracted to install electronic security systems are equipped with body temperature checking systems, and entrances and exits are separated for crowd control purposes. A simple rule of instructing colleagues to work back-to-back and to avoid facing each other, is also helping minimise the risk of someone passing the disease onto someone else.

Furthermore, when it comes to COVID-19 safety, to ensure that our engineers have peace of mind in knowing that we are doing whatever is necessary to keep them safe, our project managers are tasked with keeping them constantly informed on current Health & Safety regulations and advice.

Most importantly, we will never be complacent about the safety of our people, which is why we are continually looking at ways we can further enhance our COVID-19 related procedures.
