The Project
WLS were approached by the end-client who wanted to expand their existing Genetec system in their head office to their London office.
The Challenge
As the client was a multi-national company, they needed to work with an access control supplier that was an accredited Genetec partner. With our depth of expertise, we were the perfect fit.
A key obstacle of their current system that they highlighted in the brief was that the company had employees that needed individual access cards for every office they visited. This was raised as an unnecessary hassle that needed to be rectified.
Furthermore, the customer wanted the site to be accessed, viewed and managed from their head office in the US.
Finally, the London office, which was undergoing refurbishment at the time of installation, only had primary containment. WLS were therefore required to pick up the secondary containment for the access control and CCTV systems on site.
The Solution
WLS installed a Genetec Enterprise system onto the site, the same system that was previously installed in the American office. Genetec’s enterprise system comes with the highest level of functionality. Its’ servers are able to control vast numbers of doors and integrate with an unlimited number of cameras, making it the perfect choice for an office that is continually expanding and growing.
Genetec are renowned for their single pane of glass methodology. Their systems are connected to the IoT (Internet of Things), which means the system can be accessed, viewed, managed, altered and integrated all through the Genetec platform. This was particularly useful for the client who not only wanted to be able to control their access control, cctv, and intruder alarm from one central station, but who also wanted to do this work from their head office in the US.
The Result
Historically, the client only used local vendors when installing into new offices around the world. However, following the success of our installation in London, WLS were invited to price for a similar Genetec project in Europe. We won the job, and are currently on site on the continent.
