To support the safeguarding goals of the school, WLS replaced the existing static school gates with custom-built automated gates.
The new pedestrian gate is secured with maglocks and a hydraulic closer. The gates were installed in combination with a door entry system linked to a handset in the school reception. The exit push button to open the gates from inside the campus is on a timer to allow staff to check who is leaving site.
We also installed two automated vehicular gates – one for the entrance and one for the exit – and all available precautions were taken to ensure the safety of the gate installation including safety edges, safety beams, flashing beacons and sounders.
